Valomörkö -

Valomörkö is part of the larger urban lighting plan in Pasila by Vesa Honkonen Architects. The 300m long pedestrian and cycling route, from the motorail station to Pasila train station, is playing with light and shadows.

”It's a spook (mörkö) that came on a train to Helsinki.”

The conceptual story behing Valomörkö is that it came to Helsinki on a train but got so scared that it decided to hide under the tunnel. Because the place was so dark the spook decided to shine on light to brighten the surrounding and make them more comfortable for all visitors.
